On November 7, 2024, the network “Pflege im Kreis Coesfeld – viele Partner, ein Gesicht e.V.” invites you to the symposium “Ausbildungsoffensive Pflege” at the carecampus in Coesfeld from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Under the motto “Inspire and attract: Recruiting trainees for the care sector”, the event is aimed at decision-makers from care and healthcare facilities in the region, other interested stakeholders and trainees in the care sector. The aim of the event is to develop innovative recruiting strategies, share best practices and find new ideas and common ways to attract more trainees to the nursing profession. The aim is to promote an active discourse between decision-makers and trainees in order to jointly strengthen the future of nursing training in the region and make it more attractive. At a time when the shortage of skilled nursing staff is one of the greatest challenges, the symposium offers a platform for exchange and the development of new solutions. After a welcome address by the District Administrator Dr. Christian Schulze-Pellengahr, the Managing Director of the Employment Agency Mr. Frank Thiemann and Ms. Kristina Engelen, Member of the Board of the NRW Chamber of Nursing, the symposium will start with a keynote speech by Dr. Daniel Tucmann on the topic: “Nursing care in the field of tension between requirements, opportunities and fake news” on the current situation of nursing care in Germany. Six thematic focus rounds will be dedicated to the central questions of how trainees can be attracted to the nursing professions and retained in the long term. The focus rounds at a glance:
- Attracting and integrating international nursing staff – but how?
- Care goes social: strategies for a successful presence on TikTok, Instagram & Co
- Nursing care in the spotlight: cultivating the image of nursing professions in the public eye – what can employer alliances achieve?
- The art of presentation: employer marketing and sharpening your profile in public relations work: how care facilities sharpen their profile as attractive employers.
- I’ll show you what I can do: How nursing staff report on their work and what influence it has!
- Taking a detour into care – funding opportunities via the employment agency
The symposium not only offers informative specialist presentations, but also intensive discussion and exchange opportunities with experts and trainees. The aim is to jointly develop sustainable strategies to strengthen nursing training in the region and make it future-proof. The symposium will be rounded off with “Trainees as business consultants” reporting on the attractiveness of nursing training and, above all, what training providers and schools should do to inspire and attract trainees. Scientific input will also be provided by Mr. Rüdiger Maas, Director of the Institute for Generation Research, with his presentation on the “Next Gen Care: How to attract Generation Alpha (born 2010-2025) to the care sector or: What do we need to do to attract younger people (Generation A) to the care sector in the future?” About the organizer:
